Classes start at 5:45pm and End at 9:00pm
A 24 hour seminar for HVACR Technicians & Installers that have from one year to several years of working experience but have not had the benefits of formal training - and are interested in developing a solid foundation of A.C. refrigeration/mechanical side knowledge. The information covered in this 8 evening seminar pertains to residential and commercial systems. Course materials, videos and lectures are designed to provide the participant with the information to UNDERSTAND THE BASICS OF AIR CONDITIONING INCLUDING:
● Temperature and Pressure relationship; ● The Refrigeration Process; ● The Mechanical Refrigeration Cycle; ● System Components- refrigerants, compressors, evaporators, condensers, metering devices and piping ; ● Accessories; ● Superheat; ● Subcooling; ● Normal Operating Conditions; ● How Operation is affected by various System Problems. Effective trouble shooting practices.
PERFORM SERVICE PROCEDURES INCLUDING:
● Installation Practices/Tools; ● Electronic Thermometers; ● using Manifold Gages; ● Service Valves; ● Leak Testing; ● System Evacuation; ● Refrigerant Recovery, Proper Refrigerant Charging and System Diagnostics.
Note: there will be no "hands on training" in this seminar, however there will be problem solving exercises at the end of each session. These problem solving exercises will help ensure mastery of the topics taught that evening. The exercises include typical system problems and failures that require problem solving skills taught in this course. The students will diagnose approxiametly 60-80 systems during the course. The students will use technical skills to determine subcooling, superheat, and other important system parameters in order to diagnose the system and complete the exercises. This course is designed to equip the technician with the underlining physics and science that is behind the HVAC systems.
Note: Class will include one hour instruction on the new A2L refrigerants.
A certificate will be awarded upon completion of all requirements including: attending 90% of all class hours. Any absences must be made-up next time seminar is held to earn a certificate (at no additional fee).
Tuition: $720.00
Payment must be received in advance of class. No payments can be made upon class arrival. Verbal registrations are not acceptable. All registrations are on a first come basis.
